About Delboy
Delboy is a poet, songwriter, pirate and musician. He started writing poems in high school, inspired by an english teacher with a passion for the dramatic and helped form a subversive “Dead Poets” styled group called Cynfeirdd who would post searching and questioning passages anonymously around the school grounds. He has continued writing ever since, finding inwardly, understanding and bemusement, rage, passion, peace, whimsy and pleasure; outwardly, the often surprising and richly rewarding elements of contact, challenge and inspiration.
As a musician he was a guitarist for Sydney 90’s rock band Hugh Wilson & The Blue Phoenix, who released two albums: Iliad in 1993 and Treehouse in 1995. In 1997 he recorded a solo album, Drowning Jester with his brother Hugh and Blue Phoenix drummer David Hemmings. Following the demise of The Blue Phoenix he played with a few other Sydney bands including bass & guitar for funk instrumentalists Blush and guitar for well known Maroubra rock act Injettison. Del occasionally still gets to jam with his brother in New York. His second album – o be satisfied – was released in April 2013.
On the other side of the console, Delboy became known as an easy going, talented, dedicated audio engineer, working with most of Sydney’s top cover bands and session players and well known original blues, rock and swing acts before discovering theatre and feeling that in some way he belonged there. He currently travels the world with a theatrical dance show and sometimes with children’s theatre which takes him to places that provide limitless inspiration for words, music and pictures.
As a photographer, Delboy simply shoots what looks interesting with the easiest thing at hand.

Okay, I couldn’t find anything to go with that; I’m only ever funny by accident. Hope you’re still writing, Del. Guess I’ll have to investigate…
Meantime, just looking in!
Hey thanks Pearl, still writing but things have been slow lately… You know how it goes? Wet seasons and dry seasons… Only ever funny by accident… I like that…
